Will my therapy be confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is an important element of therapy. It’s part of what makes it work! I won’t talk to your closest relative, friend or family doctor without your written permission. The few exceptions to this rule are for safety reasons, and we will talk more about that when we meet.
What kind of therapy do you do?
My basic framework or style of therapy is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. That’s because I believe that so much of how we feel and how we respond is based on what we’re thinking, our cognitions. However, therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I will keep in mind that what’s important is that it is effective for you.
How long does each session last?
Each session is scheduled for 50 minutes.
How much does it cost?
Therapy is definitely an investment of time, energy and money. Payment is made at the end of each session. Contact me for my current fee.
What about insurance?
Your health insurance may indeed cover a portion of your therapy expense. I encourage you to contact your insurance company directly and find out the policy for out-of-network providers and the specific services that are covered. Be sure to ask what portion they will reimburse along with the number of sessions. At your request, I am happy to provide you with a monthly statement of your payments that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
